Understanding the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code©

This new 3-day class provides the attendee the knowledge to review a set of plans for compliance with the Energy Code requirements. It also provides the code knowledge to perform field inspections for compliance with the Energy Code. It explains the terms and definitions and how they are applied. The use and application of the tables are reviewed and explained. The information is combined together so the attendee has a comprehensive understanding of the use and application of the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code©. The class includes practical problems in the use of the code book. It covers all chapters of the code book including commercial and residential. The class can be used to help prepare for certification testing on the Energy Code.

The Building & Fire Code Academy is an Illinois State Board of Education approved private business and vocational school. Offering continuing education classes and complete career programs for inspectors, code officials and design professionals at all experience levels, BFCA is an International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) authorized provider and an American Institute of Architects/Continuing Education System (AIA/CES) registered provider. Students completing courses receive 1.8 continuing education units, contact hours, and/or state credit where applicable. Architects completing classes earn 18 learning units. All courses qualify for health, safety, and welfare credit.
