BFCA to hold Understanding the 2006 International Residential Code-Plan Review© Course in March
Hoffman Estates, IL — The Building & Fire Code Academy will hold its Understanding the 2006 International Residential Code-Plan Review© class at the Academy, 2401 W. Hassell Road, Ste. 1550, in Hoffman Estates, IL. The 2-day class meets on March 27-28, 2008. The fee is $265.00. Registration ends March 20, 2008.
This 2-day course is designed to teach students how to perform plan reviews based on the 2006 International Residential Code. Instructor includes applicability of the code, building planning, room areas, heights and stairways, foundations and floors, as well as wall and roof construction. Plans for different single-family homes and townhomes are used to illustrate the steps in performing plan reviews.
Instructors explain code requirements for furnaces, combustion air, gas piping, and proper installation of different types of residential appliances.
The Building & Fire Code Academy is an Illinois State Board of Education approved private business and vocational school. Offering continuing education classes and complete career programs for inspectors, code officials and design professionals at all experience levels, BFCA is an International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) authorized provider and an American Institute of Architects/Continuing Education System (AIA/CES) registered provider. Students completing the course receive 0.6 continuing education units, contact hours and/or state credit where applicable. Architects completing the class earn 6 learning units. All courses qualify for health, safety and welfare credit.
